Biography
Dr. Liu is a double board-certified neurologist with certifications in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology from the American Board of Neurologyand Psychiatry (ABPN). His professional interests involve the field of epilepsy, as well as general neurology. In addition to the evaluation and medical treatment of seizures, Dr. Liu performs electromyography, a test that measures electrical activity of the muscles to help diagnose neuromuscular disorders such as peripheral neuropathy, myopathy, radiculopathy, and carpal tunnel syndrome. He also offers a comprehensive approach to the treatment of various other neurological disorders, including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, and headaches.
Mike is a native of Dallas-Fort Worth area. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in biomedical science, he attended medical school at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. He received his neurology training at Larkin Health Systems, in Miami FL, where he served as education chief resident. After his neurology residency, he completed fellowship training in the field of Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of Virginia.
Dr. Liu is passionate about medical education. He is an assistant professor at TCU school of medicine and genuinely enjoys teaching medical Students. Outside of medicine, you might find him hanging out with his German Shepherd (Chief) and Goldendoodle (Luka) at dog parks and trails, skiing, traveling to hidden gem locations, and playing tennis or basketball.
